About Me

I am preoccupied with the idea of the "vessel"; the space within and the space without and around.  I find the process of working with form, function, composition and a personal sense of aesthetics immensely contemplative while using my body to communicate with the clay substance.
I am deeply fascinated by how the elements of earth, water, air and fire, gravity and centrifugal force work in unison to transform the humble and ancient clay into a beautiful, decorative, and useful object.
The medium of clay provides the perfect material in which to express my thoughts and ideas about the gifts and forces of nature.  Working primarily on the wheel allows a meditative and reflective pace of creative expression.
